I utilize mostly inks, colored pencils, and paper in unconventional techniques & combinations to demonstrate  that these "simple" and often overlooked materials can create magnificent works of art.

One of my favorite techniques to use is to start with a drawing of ink and colored pencils on paper.  The subject is usually inspired by Nature or Man's  Presence in Nature.  It might start out as simple or even be incredibly complex.  I then mechanically distress the piece creating interesting textures that I then enhance with watercolors, more colored pencils or even more ink.  Once I am done with that, then I varnish the paper to protect the drawing and the materials.  The final effect is really unique and layered image that I find most people want to touch, in addition to viewo
